You’re not going to like this.
You have to peel your chickpeas.
I know, I know. But trust me on this one. Slip those little skins off and you’re on your way to the bestest, most ethereal hummus you’ve ever slathered.
It’s not difficult… just ten minutes of your life that you’ll never get back.
First, rinse your canned chickpeas*, then take a pea (giggle) and give it a gentle squeeze. It should pop right out of its skin. Remember – gently – or you’ll have peas flying about and nothing going in the bowl. Once you have a bowl of naked peas, you can proceed as usual.
